UK proposes to lift salmonella checks in our domestic bell peppers to strengthen official controls

On February 26, 2025, according to the U.K. Food Standards Agency (FSA), it is proposed to amend Regulation 2019/1793 to lift the enhanced official controls on salmonella screening in our domestic bell peppers (crushed or ground, commodity code ex0904220011) and to remove it from the list of temporary additions to the official controls in Appendix 1; the public is being asked to comment, and the feedback period is open until 2025 April 9th.
