Australia Issues Import Requirements for Roasted Garlic

 On May 26, 2023, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) issued import requirements for roasted garlic, effective from the date of issuance. Key elements:
(1) An import license from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is not required;

(2) Roasted garlic must be processed and packaged. This includes peeling, dicing, slicing and roasting. The product must undergo a roasting process at a minimum temperature of 232°C (or 450°F) for at least 7 minutes;

(3) Present the following on the manufacturer's statement, commercial invoice, or packing slip: a description of the product, a complete list of ingredients, and processing details including roasting duration and temperature.
